About Us & Expertise

Cognisus was set up by Nadine Exter in 2015 because of need for specific advice which took a change management and systems-thinking approach to creating sustainable organisations - involving the whole organisation on a shared and successful journey across culture, stakeholder management and the corporate sustainability journey.

Our purpose is to empower you with the right skills and knowledge so you succeed at leading and managing sustainable organisations. We will always respect you, work closely with you to develop your successes, and be generous with our knowledge.

Our Team

Nadine Exter

Nadine has over 20+ years of business experience, from co-founding a successful SME to over a decade of consultancy experience. Most recently, Nadine is helping consultancies to deliver better results for their clients, as a subject expert, programme manager, and Associate Consultant.

Prior to Cognisus, Nadine helped leaders lead and managers manage sustainable organisations via Cranfield University. Here, Nadine researched, taught and supervised students; helped Cranfield on the journey to embed sustainability as an internal change-maker (see publications list below for a case study of this work); and also helped corporate partners on their journey to be sustainable.

Nadine has also been a consultant in stakeholder management, ‘CSR’ communications, and marketing. She managed global collaborations between different sectors, oversaw marketing and engagement campaigns, and advised clients on effective and ethical stakeholder management.

Nadine is privileged to have been on the stakeholder panels for GSK, M&S, BIS, CRG, and Barclays. She has also been a judge for the Annual Guardian Sustainable Business Awards, presented at conferences and coalition meetings including for UNPRME and CSREurope, lectured at both Cranfield and Cambridge University, and is a published author. Nadine is a Member of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability.
